\nOff to see the sights\u2026
\nI saw the sights\u2026\u00a0 all the major highlights were hit.\u00a0 I did not, however, go into the national museum.\u00a0 Ya know, I really don\u2019t care that much about the Czech Republic.\u00a0 I did check out the castle (Guinness\u2019s world\u2019s largest castle) and saw all the hysterical sites.\u00a0 I walked and walked again.\u00a0 I did take the metro once to get started to go to the castle, but Prague\u2019s metro is a little odd\u2026 for 26 koruna (just over $1) you can ride the metro up to 5 stops after where you got in or 30 minutes on a tram.\u00a0 If you overstay your welcome, it will cost you 500Kc.\u00a0 First of all this is odd that you can only go a certain number of stops and it is just a pain, BUT a whole group of people apparently did overstay their welcome and got busted for it\u2026 a little scary.\u00a0\u00a0 I also saw some tourists pull over for driving too fast\u2026 I behaved on all counts\u2026
\nIt rained\u2026\u00a0 I did not have an umbrella.\u00a0 I thought of bringing one, but opted for my rain jacket that I did not take with me on my walk-about.\u00a0 I bout an umbrella for 99 Kc ($4)\u00a0 things are pretty cheap in Prague.
\nI went and toured the castle and, of course, had to climb the stairs in the south tower\u2026\u00a0 I just can\u2019t help it.\u00a0 If I see a way to go up, I have to take it.\u00a0 375 steps or something like that\u2026\u00a0 child\u2019s play compared to St. Pete\u2019s\u2026\u00a0 the view was good and I got my bearing on my next destination\u2026\u00a0 the Charles bridge.\u00a0 Very famous\u2026\u00a0 it was just spiffy\u2026\u00a0 the funny thing about it is that it is only a pedestrian bridge and it is home of many vendors and artists\u2026\u00a0 I stopped in a the Hard Rock Caf\u00e9 to hear some English.\u00a0 I went to the top of the Astrological clock tower and met a very nice woman and her bf from Brussels\u2026\u00a0 they were one of those couples that don\u2019t actually walk together anymore\u2026\u00a0 I give them 4 more months\u2026
\nThis all let me to Charles square, the largest square in Europe don\u2019t ya know\u2026\u00a0 then I decided to wander into Wenceslas Square.\u00a0 at the top of the square is the National Museum.\u00a0 They are having a classical concert there tonight.\u00a0 If I were here with someone, I would certainly want to go, but alas no\u2026
\nThere is a market right down the street where I could gather supplies while I rest up for tonight\u2019s outing\u2026\u00a0 I have not decided what do to do at this point.\u00a0 It is a Sunday night\u2026\u00a0 I might just wander around and grab a nice dinner.\u00a0 Since things are inexpensive it would be a great place to splurge a bit\u2026
\nSome good news\u2026 my feets be much happier now.\u00a0 They have finally reached equilibrium with the gel insoles and the letting of the blisters seems to have done the trick!
\nSome bad news\u2026 I have traveled so much that the wheels came off\u2026\u00a0 my luggage.\u00a0 We are at the point where one wheel does not turn at all, it just drags\u2026 :<\u00a0 I looked for a replacement bag but did not see anything comparable.\u00a0 It looks like I will have to use it as a backpack instead of a wheeled piece of luggage\u2026\u00a0 the good news is that I think I only have 3 more stops to go\u2026
\nYes, three more stops\u2026\u00a0 those of you who though from the beginning that there is no way I could hit all the countries that I wanted to do in the beginning were so right\u2026\u00a0 northern Europe is out as is Ireland I think\u2026\u00a0 I currently plan to go from Prague to Frankfurt, to Brussels, to London and then probably fly out of there\u2026\u00a0 I will probably spend at least a couple of days in London\u2026
\nOne strange thing about this hotel\u2026\u00a0 they use very hot halogen lights in the bathrooms and the elevator.\u00a0 Standing under the lights in the lift if very warm\u2026 hmmm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
