2009-Paris-2
\nWe arrived in Paris at 6:30am local time and 1:30 am EST.\u00a0 We cruised through the airport.\u00a0 They looked at our passports, stamped them and we were on our way.\u00a0 No paperwork, no nothing, stamp and go\u2026\u00a0 I thought it was more complicated than that.\u00a0 I will be slightly harder when we go home.\u00a0 We cruised through the airport and walked right by the information desk.\u00a0 Just on the other side of the desk was an ATM\u2026 there was an Air France Bus right outside and it was going to where we wanted to be.\u00a0 The problem was that they did not take US$ or credit cards.\u00a0 We walked back in the terminal passed the information desk and to the ATM machine.\u00a0 We both got money out.\u00a0 I decided to take my ATM card back with me unlike I did in Peru where I forgot it\u2026\u00a0 anyway, back to the bus.\u00a0 Marlo went into the office and bought, in French, two round trip tickets to the right bus and it was there in 15 minutes.\u00a0 We asked the very nice, English speaking bus driver if they were going by our hotel and they were.\u00a0 She even told us that it was the first stop and she would tell us when.\u00a0 Nice!\u00a0 It would have been a little better if I had brought a map and had the address with me, but no\u2026 silly boy\u2026\u00a0 anyway a very short bus ride later we were at our hotel.\u00a0 The bus stop was latterly across the street, sweet.
\nWe checked in at 7:30 in the morning\u2026\u00a0 they charged us 75e for the early checkin\u2026 hmmm\u2026. But we wanted the bed, now\u2026\u00a0 we got a power converter and went up to the starwood preferred guest floor.\u00a0 Now, I did not put the account on the reservation until we got here, so I don\u2019t know how that happened, but we ended up with a very nice room on the eighth floor.\u00a0 The room was pretty big.\u00a0 It had a king-size bed, a nice bathroom with a bath\/shower, a sink, and a baday.\u00a0 It had a separate small room with the toilet.\u00a0 Very nice.\u00a0 It even had a speaker for the tv in the bathroom\u2026
\nMarlo lay her head down on the bed and was instantly asleep\u2026\u00a0 she did not sleep on the plane very well and did not sleep well the night before\u2026\u00a0 I was going to stay up, but figured that I might as well lie down for a bit.\u00a0 This was at 7:30am.\u00a0 I woke up at 12:30pm\u2026\u00a0 I thought about getting up and that lasted several seconds and I fell back to sleep\u2026\u00a0 ooops\u2026\u00a0 at 2:45 I woke up again and we both stirred.
\nWe got showered and dressed and began our exploration\u2026\u00a0 we stopped to get a map at the concierge desk, but did not get one.\u00a0 We wandered instead.\u00a0 We wandered over to the Arch De Triomphe.\u00a0 It\u2019s big.\u00a0 We wandered around it.\u00a0 We will go in it during the week when there is no crowd.\u00a0 We then walked down the Champs Elysees\u2026.\u00a0 It is eight lanes wide and has lot of traffic, and traffic circles, and restaurants, and shops, and, etc, etc, etc\u2026\u00a0 we stopped at a caf\u00e9 and had a sandwich and coffee.\u00a0 We then hoofed it all the way down to the Louvre and the pyramid.\u00a0 It is all way more impressive in real life :>\u00a0 we walked along the Seine and saw the river tour boats.\u00a0 They looked like fun.\u00a0 At this point it was after 7:00 so the museum was closed\u2026.
\nWe ate at a cusco place that was not that expensive.
\nWe came back to the hotel and hung out in the jazz club for a bit.\u00a0 Marlo had a cappuccino and I ate the nuts\u2026\u00a0 the cappuccino was 11e or $15!!!!\u00a0 Not only is the exchange rate slightly unfavorable, the prices are obscene!\u00a0 We will muddle though, we won\u2019t be back any time soon, so here we go..\u00a0 We are going to hit the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Eiffel tower, L\u2019Arc de Ttiomphe, and the Champs-Elysees.\u00a0\u00a0 We have already laid our eyes on most of them and now we have to have a closer look\u2026<\/p>\n
