Filing for unemployment\u2026
\nIt first started before we\u00a0 left for Utah.\u00a0 January 1.\u00a0 It was a holiday, the web site was closed!\u00a0 Please what kind of web site is closed just because the office is???\u00a0 Well CT DOL is\u2026\u00a0 I kept rescheduling filing until I was able to get in.\u00a0 first the site crashed and gave me page not found errors.\u00a0 then we got to Utah and it told me that my info did not match what they had on record.\u00a0 Then I tried to call and got most of the way through the Voice response system.\u00a0 That is also only available when the office is open\u2026\u00a0 makes no sense.\u00a0 They should hire me to just fix the system.\u00a0 It is .net asp pages.\u00a0 Piece of cake to fix!!!\u00a0 Anyway I get through the questions and they tell me that I have to talk to a person\u2026\u00a0 fine.\u00a0 Then they tell me that they are busy, I should call after 1:00 I will hear a series of clicks and be connected\u2026\u00a0 goodbye\u2026\u00a0 I hear clicks and then a dial tone\u2026\u00a0 I do this several times\u2026 see definition of a moron\u2026
\nI get up real early the next day Jan 9 to try to get a jump on them…\u00a0 no dice!\u00a0 They tell me that they are busy and they hang up on me again\u2026\u00a0 I don\u2019t even get to wait on hold!\u00a0 Arg!\u00a0 So I take the hint and I wait until 1:00.\u00a0 Exactly at 1:00 I call back.\u00a0 They don\u2019t immediately hang up on me!\u00a0 Progress!!!\u00a0 Instead I wait 45 minutes on hold\u2026.\u00a0 Ever 10 minutes or so the muzak restarts and you get a faint hope that a person may pick up\u2026 or worse\u2026\u00a0 you will be disconnected and have to start over!\u00a0\u00a0 I do like the fact that every 10 minutes or so they encourage you not to hang up and they are doing their very best\u2026.
\nI finally get a real person!!!\u00a0 I felt like it was a major accomplishment!\u00a0 She was pleasant, spoke English, was understandable and nice!\u00a0 Bonus!!!\u00a0 She did ask me all the questions that I had filled out 7 times on the web and once more on the phone, but hey.\u00a0 Then she asked me other questions about dependants and work that I was prepared for.\u00a0 She then threw me a curve and asked about my weekly pay\u2026 oh no, I had to look it up, would she wait, was I screwed?!?!?\u00a0 No it only took me a couple of minutes and my bank has WAY BETTER computers :>\u00a0 I answered all her questions and she said that I was all set!!!
\nIt was a full-time job filing for unemployment!!!\u00a0 Good thing that I did not have anything better to do!\u00a0 Actually I was cleaning out my filing cabinet that had things that were over 10 years old\u2026\u00a0 oops\u2026\u00a0 not done yet, but I will be later\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
